Eclipse-IT 2010 Call for Contributions

The 5th Workshop of the Italian Eclipse Community

September 30th and October 1st, 2010
Savona, Italy

http://2010.Eclipse-IT.org

Workshop theme Eclipse was initially designed as an integrated development environment (IDE) for object-oriented application development. Today Eclipse is an open source community whose projects are focused on building an open development platform comprised of extensible frameworks, tools and runtimes for building, deploying and managing software across the lifecycle. This workshop is the fifth yearly meeting of the Eclipse Italian Community which includes universities, public institutions and industries, researchers and practitioners, students and professionals, all joined by the interest in promoting, experimenting, extending, and supporting the Eclipse platform. This year conference welcomes contibutions also on the Jazz cooperative development environment, knowledge sharing and engineering with Jazz, and experiences using the Jazz platform.

Call for regular papers, student papers and demos, public institutions (PA) or industrial demos.

Building on the success of the past editions, Eclipse-IT 2010 will host three tracks (Regular, Student, PA and Industry) and three types of contributions are solicited: technical papers, student demo papers, and PA or industrial demos.

** Call for experience in Public Institutions or Industrial demos **

This year, the industrial track has been extended from industries to Public Insitutions too. The adoption of Open Source in the Public institution is a key point in the economic development of countries and a key point in politics too. The development of ad hoc solutions, based on the Eclipse environment, is the next step towards the improvement of citizen services.

Contributions are expected on both industry applications/demos and experiences in public insitutions.

  • Industrial demos will have to describe and show the realization of Eclipse based applications or report about the use of the Eclipse/Jazz technologies in the development of software solutions.
  • Experiences in Public Insitutions will have to describe the actual situation with respect to the use of opensource products and the adoption of customized solutions for specific problems.

An abstract is requested and the contribution proposal will be accepted if suited to the conference topics. Abstract should be no longer then 2 pages and include authors names and affiliations.

Authors are invited to submit their proposals (.pdf) via electronic submission on the conference management system easychair.

Submitted proposal will be evaluated by the Program Committee on the basis of the contribution to the workshop theme, the novelty of the work, and the quality of presentation.

For any question or problem related to paper submission, contact the Workshop Chair, Giovanni ADORNI, at adorni@unige.it.
